Will Darrius Heyward-Bey or Michael Crabtree Have the Better Career?

Saturday night will match up the Top two Wide receivers picked in the 2009 NFL Draft.

In the 2009 NFL Draft, the best wide receiver was Texas Tech’s man-child Michael Crabtree, but Darrius Heyward Bey was faster than Crabtree—therefore, the Oakland Raiders went with Bey in the first round.

Crabtree wound up with a much more productive year after a lengthy hold-out.

Fast forward to this year, the news out the Raiders training camp is Bey has much improved. Bey is a beast. Bey is catching everything but a cold. You can’t stop Bey, you can only hope to fatigue him.

Bey, however, has no catches in two preseason games. If we were all measured by our reflections in our mirrors, we would be devastatingly dashing debonair ladies and gents who set the world afire just with a smile. However, when we leave home we must earn our respect and wages. And so does Bey. Look for Bey to assert all his talents and abilities in order to catch his first pass Saturday night against the 49ers.

Who will prove to be the better wide receiver from the 2009 draft, my bet is on Louis Murphy. Murphy has done nothing but solidify himself as the “go to” wide receiver for the Oakland Raiders.
