Will Darren McFadden Become the Next Reggie Bush?

Darren McFadden and Reggie Bush. Two of the most quick, agile, and elusive young players in today's gridiron meets.

Also, two of the most hyped tailbacks who haven't lived up to the talk.

Before I start comparing McFadden and Bush, please know that I'm not very fond of comparisons. Some are necessary, some aren't. I feel these two are gifted players who can succeed in the NFL.

That being said, they're not busts.

Look at Bush. Some say he is a draft bust already. He's only 25 years old and is coming off one of his better seasons.

Rushing wise, I love Reggie Bush. He is very tough running. The fact he hits the hole full speed every single down is something I just adore.

If I remember correctly, McFadden runs his heart out as well.

As I learned with Matt Forte this season, if you're being hit in the backfield for the simple fact...well, your line sucks, you tend to not play full-hearted.

Is this an excuse? Nope. Do I understand the morale factor to depress because you have basically nowhere to run? Yes.

But going back to Bush. Look at this statistic, then tell me he's a bust:

260 receptions in four seasons. 1,934 yards receiving. An average of 7.4 yards per catch.

Do you think that's a bust? For a running back, those are stellar numbers.

In 2007, when he started 10 games (his most for a season), Bush caught 73 passes. That's more than some wideouts.

Overall, Reggie Bush is still young and, in my opinion, is still a very heavy contributor to New Orleans and will be for any other team, if traded.

On the other hand, DMC is behind one of the worst lines in football. You also have to think of team play.

Reggie Bush has Drew Brees, wide receiver threats, and a great line. McFadden has a horrid line, inconsistent/bad quarterback play, and not much in t...
