Middle linebacker Rolando McClain, who was the eighth overall pick in the 2010 NFL draft, needs to be shown the door.
Things may well already be headed in that direction. As reported by The Associated Press via The Los Angeles Daily News Mcclain has been suspended two games for conduct detrimental to the team after an altercation in practice Wednesday, although Allen wouldn't go into specifics as to what exactly transpired.
"I'm not going to get into any of the specifics of anything that happened, that went into the decision," Allen said. "That's team-related matters. We're going to keep that within the family."
That altercation spurred a number of bizarre Facebook posts by McClain that included "Officially no longer an Oakland Raider. Well, technically I am. But I'm mentally done. Just waiting on my papers." according to Eric Gilmore of CBS Sports.
The posts were later taken down, but at this point the Raiders would be well served to grant McClain's wish.
It's not like this is the first problem with McClain. In November of 2011 McClain was arrested and charged with assault after threatening a man in Alabama and discharging a firearm near the man's head.
Those charges got the 23-year-old a 180-day jail sentence that was later dropped after McClain appealed and the victim chose not to pursue the matter, but if nothing else that run-in with the law produced an arrest photo that tells you everything you need to know about what is (or isn't) going on between McClain's ears.
Were McClain playing like an eighth overall draft choice, then right or wrong a lot of this nonsense would be forgiven, but to this point in his career...
