In Week 7, the Raiders embarrassed the Denver Broncos 59-14 in front of their home crowd. The 59 points scored by the Raiders was the most for a single game in franchise history. The Raiders' 45-point route of the Broncos began on the opening drive of the game when tight end Zach Miller caught a 43-yard touchdown pass from Jason Campbell. The Raiders hopped out in front 7-0 and didn't look back.
Week 7's win might have been just the thing to get them going. Oakland has not been able to win back-to-back games this season, but Week 8 might finally be the week to do so.
The Raiders are home against the Seahawks who are also coming off a big divisional victory. Tom Cable has a chance to get to an even 4-4 record before they play the division leading Kansas City Chiefs in Week 9.
The passing and running game both clicked in Week 7, and will need to do so in Week 8 as well. Quarterback Jason Campbell completed 60 percent of his passes for 204 yards and two touchdowns. Running back Darren McFadden ran wild carrying the ball 16 times for 165 yards and three touchdowns. He also added two receptions for 31 yards and a score.
The Raiders ran for over 300 yards against the Broncos, and that running game will be a key factor against a Seattle defense, who is second in the NFL against the rush.
The Raiders held quarterback Kyle Orton to just 198 yards on 12-of-29 passing. Although the Broncos were behind the entire game, they only ran for 75 yards. This was good news for a Raiders defense that has struggled against the run.
