Week 8 Fantasy Football: Michael Bush and Waiver Wire Fixes for Darren McFadden

Oakland Raiders star running back Darren McFadden left during his team’s loss to the Kansas City Chiefs in the first quarter after sustaining a sprained foot.

The Raiders have a bye this week and hope is that McFadden will be available in two weeks, but you have to plan ahead to have a starter this week.

While your bench should offer this support, injuries and duds have hurt many teams, and the waiver wire could save you this week.

Michael Bush—The obvious choice when a player goes down is his backup, but in this case Bush is more than that. Before McFadden’s injury, Bush was already the short-yardage back in certain situations.

If Darren McFadden is held out of the Raiders' Week 9 game, Michael Bush has to be handcuffed because of the concern over McFadden’s injury history.

DeMarco Murray—There is no hotter commodity on the waiver wire right now than DeMarco Murray, and the Dallas Cowboys will have him hauling the rock for at least one more week.

It could be much longer if he keeps putting up the kind of numbers he put up in Week 7 when Murray rushed 25 times for 253 yards and a touchdown. That would be nice production to have in place of Darren McFadden.

Delone Carter—After getting beat down by the New Orleans Saints, the Indianapolis Colts are going to play a team that is almost as bad in the Tennessee Titans.

Even while getting destroyed last week, Colts running back Delone Carter had just 10 rushes for 89 yards and a touchdown, and this week’s game could be a good time for Carter to show the Colts how good he can be.
