The Clash of the Oakland Raiders and the Minnesota Vikings: Who Will Overcome?

Some folks are driven to excellence because of their losses, pain and hardships. Others falter and waver in their performance because they have not learned how to transform pain and loss into fuel for an aggressive pursuit to a commitment to excellence.

What greater fuel for the passion and drive for excellence than those natural events that have challenged the Oakland Raiders since Oct. 8, 2011.

One student in my class today said the the Houston Texans "let" the Raiders defeat them because they felt bad about the loss of the Raiders owner, Al Davis.

I told the young man, that I do not think that was the case. I said, "How do you explain the interception in the last seven seconds of the game?"

He said, "The Texan quarterback threw the ball straight to Michael Huff.

I retorted, "I don't think so."

I told him that he just wants to devalue what happened on October 9, 2011. We didn't argue. We just had an interesting discussion.

When I heard his perspective, I wondered how many other opponents' fans think that someone just gave a victory to the Oakland Raiders?

The Raiders have earned each and every victory. They will continue to do so.

One person made a comment saying that the Vikings are not pirates. I responded with a little historical research.

Folks need to back up what they say by doing their homework.

All I can say is that the Oakland Raiders have many reasons to make a powerful statement by winning more games in 2011. It's just the right thing to do after a year of transitions and challenges.

Go Raiders! Do your thing: Just win, baby! The Oakland Raiders shall overcome!
