Since the Oakland Raiders acquired Seymour from the New England Patriots, Seymour has played without losing a step. Very consistent. As a fantasy player, Seymour should have more sacks this year since the Raiders also added Kamerion Wimbley to the line.
Seymour averages 40 tackles a season and, with the new look of the Raiders, should be able to post higher sack numbers. Those sacks add to points.
LB Kamerion Wimbley is another sacking threat should he "step up" his game for the Silver and Black. Wimbley had a great rookie season with 11 sacks. He has averaged five per season since then and now will defend for the Raiders. Wimbley was added when the team released Kirk Morrison. He is another defensive player worth watching for fantasy leagues.
For some reason, I expect QB's to challenge CB Nnamdi Asomugha's talents this season. Asomugha should get some decent picks this season and, as a fantasy player, will make some great return points. I realize that Asomugha had one interception last season, but should the Oakland Raiders defense become even more aggressive this season then Asomugha will have more opportunities.
LB Thomas Howard posted 79 tackles and two sacks last year. Howard could also have great fantasy points this season. The defense looks to be faster and Howard can really thrive.
My favorite fantasy Oakland Raider last season was Tyvon Branch. He had 124 tackles and one sack last season. Branch has done an outstanding job as safety. He posted decent points every game.
Lastly, there's S Michael Huff. Huff looked much improved with 59 tackles and three interceptions. As a fantasy player, I would say use as a backup at seasons start. He does, however, have a chance to post some great numbers this season. He could be a sleeper.
