San Diego vs. Oakland: Week 1 Preview and Predictions

Monday Night Football. The Black Hole. A big rivalry game.

What's not to like?

Well, it may not be pretty, but there's lots of storylines in this one.

This marks the first full season without Al Davis for the Raiders. They are coming off a tumultuous 2011, and first-year head coach, 39-year-old Dennis Allen, will make his debut for the Silver and Black. Raiders fans are also waiting in anticipation to see if Darren McFadden is all the way back. And some in Raider Nation are counting the days until Terrell Pryor spells Carson Palmer.

For the Chargers, Norv Turner has a lot to prove after yet another disappointing season in San Diego. Phillip Rivers needs a bounce-back year for the Chargers to get into the playoffs and let their head coach live to see another day. Gone is Vincent Jackson, but the Chargers now have Robert Meachem and Eddie Royal for Rivers to throw to.

San Diego fans are also happy that Antonio Gates is much healthier than last year. And on the defensive front, rookie Melvin Ingram made a lot of believers out of Chargers fans this preseason.

Now, it's time for both teams to take center stage on Monday Night Football in the Black Hole.
