Richard Seymour Thinks Coach Dennis Allen Has ‘It’

A huge thing for a new coach is to have the team's veteran players behind him, and Richard Seymour has got Dennis Allen's back.

In a recent interview, the veteran NFLer, who has had four coaches in the last three seasons, said to Adam Schein and Rich Gannon on Sirius XM, "Some coaches just have the 'it factor,' and Dennis Allen has it. I can't stress enough about everyone being on the same page."

Seymour is typically outspoken; so if he had a problem with the head coach, he would likely say so or just keep his mouth shut. So, it seems like he really is excited about Allen leading their team.

Allen's history around the league leads one to believe that others have though he had "it" too. As Gregg Rosenthal of Around the League points out, the last coach who had the special factor was John Gruden, who was brought up from being a relatively unknown assistant.

It was a surprise move choosing Allen as a head coach, especially since he has no experience at that post; but the Raiders are an organization that has given lots of young head coaches a starting chance throughout the years.

The team has made a ton of really promising moves in the offseason, so it will be exciting to see what Allen has been able to do with the group once he gets them against other teams in preseason.
