Raiders vs Seahawks: What Is Terrelle Pryor’s Long-Term Fantasy Football Value?

NFL preseason finales don't typically generate much interest from a national perspective, but the contest Friday night between the Seattle Seahawks and Oakland Raiders should spark some interest from viewers across the country.

While no plans have been laid forward by coach Hue Jackson, it is widely assumed that Raiders first-year quarterback Terrelle Pryor will make his NFL debut against the Seahawks in Seattle.

The Raiders took Pryor in the third round of the NFL's supplemental draft in August, and the ultra-athletic quarterback will get the chance to be Oakland's quarterback of the future. That's still further down the line, but Friday should give us our first opportunity to see Pryor line up against NFL players. 

Leading into his NFL debut, it'll be interesting to gauge what kind of fantasy football player Pryor could be down the road.

Is Pryor a future starting NFL quarterback? Will he need to switch positions? Can he become a star? What's his ceiling?

Can Pryor be a starting NFL QB?



The Raiders certainly think so considering they spent a third-round pick on him. It wouldn't make much sense from the front office's point of view if they took him that high without the seeing him in the future as a guy who can start at his most natural position. 

Will he continue to be a QB?

It doesn't sound like it at this point. Pryor impressed teams at his pro day workout with the way he spun the ball. He certainly has the athleticism to play a different position, but I think as long as he's a Raider, he'll be working at quarterback. 

Can he be an NFL superstar?

That's a question NFL GMs struggle with every draft season. The truth is, it's almost impossible to project if players will become "stars" in the NFL. So many different variables go into it, including coaching, schemes, ...
