Oakland Raiders vs. St. Louis Rams: Betting Odds, Analysis, NFL Pick

Neither the Oakland Raiders nor the St. Louis Rams are going anywhere this season, but both are apparently improving as this season goes along.

Oakland and St. Louis are each 3-1 against the spread over their last four games. Coming off their first victory of the season, the 1-10 Raiders are set to meet up with the 4-7 Rams on Sunday afternoon in St. Louis.

Point Spread: The Rams opened as 6.5-point favorites. The total was 42 early in the week.

Odds Shark Computer Pick: Rams 17.3, Raiders 11.7

Why the Raiders Can Cover the Spread

The Raiders just ensured that they would avoid NFL infamy by pulling off a 24-20 upset over Kansas City last Thursday. They won straight up as seven-point home underdogs for their first victory of the season.

While Oakland is just 1-10 SU this season, it is also 6-5 ATS and 4-3 ATS since firing Dennis Allen and replacing him with Tony Sparano.

The Raiders led the Chiefs early 14-0, fell behind 20-17, but responded with an 80-yard drive that ended with a Derek Carr touchdown pass to James Jones with under two minutes to go.

Oakland gained 179 rushing yards to Kansas City's 96. It was just the second time this season that the Chiefs were out-rushed an opponent.

Why the Rams Can Cover the Spread

The Rams followed up their stunning upset of Denver two weeks ago with a tough 27-24 loss at San Diego last week, but covered as five-point underdogs.

Primed for a letdown, St. Louis instead led the Chargers at the half 10-6 and later picked up the backdoor cover with a score with just over two minutes to go.

Over the last six weeks, the Rams have beaten both of last year's Super Bowl teams, Denver and Seattle, and knocked off San Francisco. They've out-rushed three of their last four opponents.
