Oakland Raiders vs. Atlanta Falcons: Oakland Raiders Week 6 Winners and Losers

Coming off of a week bye, the Oakland Raiders took on the undefeated NFC South Atlanta Falcons. While this Raiders team showed they could hang with (and at times lead) a top tier NFL team, they also showed areas in need of improvement.

Here are some of the Oakland Raiders' biggest winners and losers from a hard fought loss to the Atlanta Falcons.

Winners

Oakland Raiders Rushing game

The Oakland Raiders rushing offense more than doubled their NFL-worst average with 149 yards. You would think with that sentence alone, that would mean a big day for McFadden.

However, he had another rough game with 70 yards on 27 carries and an average of 2.6 yards a carry. With that being said, Oakland’s rushing attack was a team effort, with Mike Goodson breaking a 43 yard run and Darrius Heyward-Bey with 20 yards.

Tight End Brandon Myers

An area that I have criticized the Oakland Raiders offense many times, Raiders QB Carson Palmer got additional pass support down the middle from tight end Brandon Myers.

Myers was second on the team with 5 catches for 62 yards and has added a much-needed threat for Palmer.

Oakland Raider Offensive Time of Possession

The Oakland Raiders offense managed the clock very well this week, with a 36:26 time of possession (compared to 23:34 for the Atlanta Falcons).

One of the reasons the Oakland won the time of possession battle was due to a balanced offensive attack.

The Raiders rushed the ball 32 times with 3 different players:
