Oakland Raiders QB Bruce Gradkowski Done For Season. Is He Done As a Raider?

Bruce Gradkowski's return as the starting QB didn't go as planned and now appears unlikely to last any longer than one game.  On his final pass attempt, Bruce Gradkowski re-injured the shoulder that kept him out of action for five weeks.  Maybe he wasn't fully healed in the first place.  His arm looked weak today.  There were plays out there to be made but he simply didn't have the "arm" to get it done.

After the game Gradkowski said that it felt a lot like the way it did when he first injured his shoulder against the Chargers.  Actually, it was against the Texans when he first got popped.  Bernard Pollard smacked him pretty good a couple of times.  He tried to play the following week but was ineffective and eventually knocked out of the game.

Jason Campbell took over and rallied the Raiders on two scoring drives and a win over the Chargers.

With only five games left, I think Bruce Gradkowski is done for the season.  He might also be done as a Raider.  He doesn't have the arm that Al Davis wants his QBs to have.  Now that he injured his throwing shoulder twice you have to believe that Al Davis will not retain him heading into next season.

Jason Campbell will now have the opportunity to prove that he should be the man in Oakland going forward.  The last five weeks will tell us a lot about what kind of team we have.  Jason Campbell needs to finish strong.  If he can have a solid finish to the season he may convince Al Davis that he is the future.

If Campbell plays just average football we could have yet another starting QB in 2011.
