Oakland Raiders Name Hue Jackson Head Coach: Why This Was the Right Hire

I don't mean to go Lil Wayne on everyone, but Hue Jackson is so official all he needs is a whistle. The Oakland Raiders finally named Jackson their head coach.

Nobody was really surprised by this move, as everyone expected Jackson to be named head coach since Tom Cable was fired.

Jackson was the right guy for the Raiders. The fans and players were worried about continuity and having to bring in a whole new system, but promoting Jackson will make the transition a lot easier.

Jackson is a very smart and intense person. A lot of people have great things to say about him including players outside of the Raiders locker room.

Chad Ochocinco tweeted that he was the best receivers coach he's ever had. Jackson has worked his way up to head coach the old-fashioned way. 

Jackson has been a running back and wide receivers coach. He has been a quarterbacks coach and an offensive coordinator.

The move to head coach will not be a very hard one for him. It's not easy being the head coach of the Oakland Raiders.

If you don't believe me, ask the last seven coaches the Raiders have had. Jackson comes in as a hand-picked coach by Al Davis. 

They appear to have a positive relationship so far. Jackson calls Davis "Coach Davis" and Davis appears to trust Jackson.

Davis is starting to get tired of losing and starting to get tired of head coaching drama. Look for Davis to be more patient with Jackson and let him do his thing as head coach.

Jackson may be in charge of putting the whole coaching staff together. Jackson's offensive scheme should stick, and Al Saunders may be running it next season according to Adam Schefter of ESPN.

Look for the defense to change as well. Marshall ran the defensive scheme that Davis wanted him to run. Mostly man-on-man defense and that is one of the reasons the Raiders struggled against the run.
