Darren McFadden was firing on all cylinders, Jason Campbell played intelligently, and former Washington Husky fullback Marcel Reece has created a buzz unseen in Oakland since the Golden State Warriors stunned the Dallas Mavericks in the 2007 NBA playoffs.
Perhaps the play of the game was a fourth-and-1 on Seattle's 30-yard line.
Instead of bringing on Sebastian Janikowski for a 40-yard field goal, offensive coordinator Hue Jackson drew up a slant to Reece. Campbell threaded it through double coverage, and Reece did the rest, galloping for a Raider touchdown.
The Raiders D showed up in force. Matt Hasselbeck couldn't get any drives started, and finished the afternoon 1-of-16 on third down. He was also sacked an eye-boggling eight times. Richard Seymour and Kamerion Wimbley both recorded two sacks apiece.
It's always a question of what obstacle is next for the Raiders to overcome, and next week proves to be no different. The Kansas City Chiefs, led by red-hot Jamaal Charles, come to town, setting up an AFC West showdown.
Concerns leading into next week:
-Nnamdi Asomugha rolled his ankle pretty severely, and looked to be in excruciating pain. An MRI coming on Monday will tell the story, but it seems to be a sprained ankle. Raider fans can rejoice, as on first glance, it looked to be tendon damage. The moment he came out, WR Mike Williams, who was held without a catch previously, immediately caught a streak route over the inept man coverage of safety Michael Huff.
