Tom Cable said he wanted a running back to step up and take over the position.
After two games into the 2010 season, Darren McFadden has burst onto the scene, and he ranks second in the NFL in rushing yards behind the Houston Texans' Arian Foster.
McFadden had a good game against the Titans, but it was overlooked by a 38-13 loss. McFadden came back against the Rams a week later and took 30 carries (career-high) for 140 yards.
So now we have a problem, but it's a good problem. Which running back should get more carries between Bush and McFadden?
Bush practiced fully on Wednesday and looks like he will be ready to play in Week 3 at Arizona. Bush was picked by most of the fans as their favorite of the two backs over the offseason because of his ability to pick up yards with his power.
McFadden has learned how to lower his shoulder and push through tackles for a few extra yards instead of going down on contact. He still possesses the speed that he had when he was drafted out of Arkansas as the fourth overall pick in 2008.
Bush averages 4.6 yards per carry for his career and many believe that with a full season, he can get 1,000 yards being the first Raiders running back to get 1,000 since Lamont Jordan.
McFadden averaged less than four yards per carry over his first two seasons before breaking out this year with five per carry, and finally reaching his second career 100-yard game, his first was in Week 2 of his rookie season (2008) at Kansas City.
So I will ask the question again. Who should get the majority of the carries in Oakland?
