Oakland Raiders: Jason Campbell Can Lead This Team

A lot of fans were worried when Bruce Gradkowski got hurt last Sunday against the Chargers in the first quarter.  Many were thinking that Jason Campbell didn't have what it takes to win with this Raiders team.

But Campbell proved all the critics wrong by rallying the Raiders to a win that buried a streak of 13 losses in a row to the Chargers.  In that game, Campbell completed 13 of 18 for 159 yards and a TD and he led a scoring drive of 97 yards.

Campbell looked like the version of Gradkowski that Raider Nation saw lead to wins against the Steelers and Bengals.  In other words, Campbell looked like he could rally this team and win games.

There could be a case made that says Campbell is better than Gradkowski if you look at the stats where Campbell has a higher completion percentage.

With the Raiders on their way to San Francisco to take part in the Battle of the Bay against the win less 49ers, Campbell should lead Oakland to victory.  If he doesn't he will lose a lot of his newfound support that he picked up against San Diego.

While I still lean towards Bruce Gradkowski as the Raiders starter, I am alright with Jason Campbell for this week.

But regardless of who the Raiders QB is, they will only be as good as the offensive line that is protecting them while the receivers routes develop.
