Oakland Raiders Considering Trade For Veteran Reciever

Rumors have come out of the Oakland Raiders front office about the Raiders acquiring a veteran wide receiver to their receiving corps, specifically because of the nagging foot injury to Chaz Schilens and the slow progress of Darrius Heyward-Bey.

Coach Tom Cable is frustrated with the constant dropped passes in practice.

"I still feel that there are too many on the ground," Cable commented. "We fight that constantly. We're certainly improved in that area, but we've got to keep cleaning it up and cleaning it up. There's days where you feel you're making improvement on that and there's days you feel like, 'OK, we still have a lot of work to do.'''

The best wide receiver available is San Diego Charger Vincent Jackson. However, the Chargers are not trading their disgruntled wide receiver to a division rival. Therefore the Raiders might be interested in the Cincinnati Bengals' Antonio Bryant, but his injured knee makes this a highly improbable trade option.

Two games into the preseason, is it too late to find a decent wide receiver?

Terrell Owens' three catches for 67 yards performance against the Philadelphia Eagles Friday night indicates that he is still a valuable weapon.

Should the Raiders have signed Owens months ago?
