Most believed that we'd win some games this year and then make a push for the division the following season. A lot had the Raiders finishing somewhere around 8-8 and missing the playoffs. Here we are with four games remaining and the Raiders are 6-6 and coming off a huge win over the Chargers. That win could propel the Raiders into a strong finish and possibly the AFC West Championship.
Our final four games are in Jacksonville, Denver, at home against the Colts and the season finale in Kansas City. That game will likely be for the division and the right to move on to the playoffs. So far this year the Raiders have proved they can play with anybody. Unfortunately they have also shown they can go out there and lay an egg.
I believe the Raiders have recaptured their identity in the win over the Chargers. They realized that they have to play aggressive and take it to the other team. They know that they have to pound the ball with both RBs and not air it out 40 times.
The defensive line came alive and got after Phillip Rivers, sacking him four times and getting a hit on him an amazing 16 times. The offensive line looked the way they did during the last win streak. They were out there getting after it. They deserve a lot of credit for the win over the Chargers. They did a great job run blocking and held up enough for Jason Campbell to make some much needed throws.
