Oakland Raiders 2012 Draft Wish List No. 6: WR Marvin Jones

What an exciting few days, don't you agree?  I may be alone here, but the combine is one of my favorite events of the NFL season.  There's so many things that can happen, you never know what's going on.  First-round talent players do terrible, a la Vontaze Burfict.  Other players blow the roof off of Lucas Oil Stadium and eventually find themselves on my draft wish list.

I don't know how many of you got a chance to see the combine, but one of the guys that impressed me was Marvin Jones.  Now, there were a lot of other players that did very well.  As you may already know, Stephen Hill of Georgia Tech saw his stock rise faster than his 40 time.  Stanford's Chris Owusu showed that he can play in the NFL, but his history of concussions is scary.

Marvin Jones shows that he can be a prototypical No. 1 receiver in the NFL.  I understand it's hard to tell this from just one day of workouts, but I believe Jones has unbelievable potential.

Jones showed up at the combine standing at 6'2" and weighing 199 lbs.  He showed great speed, running a 4.46 40-yard dash.  Not elite speed like the Calvin Johnsons of the league, but Jones uses his speed very well.  After I saw his results, I ran to my laptop and searched him up on YouTube.

Jones does a very good job getting separation on deep routes.  Time after time, when the camera switches from quarterback to receiver, I saw Jones blazing past defensive backs.  Unfortunately for Jones, he didn't exactly have a great quarterback throwing it to him and the deep ball was often short.  This was no big deal for Jones, as he just used his strength and great hands to come back and get the ball.  Imagine what he can do with Carson Palmer throwing him the ball.

The Golden Bear product had his strength on full display on Sunday morning.  He tied for first in bench reps.  What does t...
