Wide receiver Denarius Moore and tight end David Ausberry had some key plays against the Arizona Cardinals in a losing effort.
Moore was selected in the fifth round of the 2011 NFL Draft, but he played as if he was a first-round pick. Moore led the Raiders receiving group with three catches for a total of 37 yards.
Raider fans have been waiting for a big performance from their wide receivers, and they saw a glimpse of greatness from Moore. Moore's biggest play was a 26-yard catch and run over the middle of the field.
Tight end David Ausberry made an immediate impact with an 18-yard touchdown catch, which was Oakland's only touchdown of the game.
Ausberry was a former wide receiver from USC but was moved to the tight end position. He was selected by the Raiders in the seventh round of the 2011 NFL Draft and could be a great weapon for quarterback Jason Campbell.
If all goes well, the tight end tandem of Kevin Boss and David Ausberry could make people forget about former Raider Zach Miller.
Raider Nation really liked what they saw from these two rookies and they showed huge potential in both training camp and their first preseason game.
The next preseason game is against the San Francisco 49ers and all eyes will be on these two Raiders.
