Though Oakland will most likely push hard to re-sign him, you never know with Al Davis, and he may look to shed some green.
If this were to become reality, half the league could show interest in Asomugha. The 49ers, Houston Texans, Dallas Cowboys and Baltimore Ravens are just a few that make sense.
Each of these teams could have unique appeals to Asomugha.
The Baltimore Ravens make sense because they have had one of, if not the best, defenses over the past decade. A corner is really the only need, and if Baltimore was to land Asomugha, then its defense could be near complete.
Even if Ed Reed and Ray Lewis were to retire after this season, an Asomugha-led defense with Terrell Suggs, Haloti Ngata, and Kelly Gregg, plus potential emerging young players such as Terrence Cody and Jameel McClain could still be very successful.
The Dallas Cowboys make sense because of the money they would give Asomugha, plus he would become a lot more known playing for "America's team." The Cowboys signing Nnamdi makes sense because Terrence Newman is slowing down, and Mike Jenkins was a disappointment this year.
The Houston Texans make sense because he could become the savior of the defense. Also, Wade Phillips being added as a coordinator has a big-name effect to it, so that could lure Nnamdi.
Also, "Super" Mario Williams and DeMeco Ryans could interest Asomugha, because they show the Texans have some of the pieces. Being how desperate it is for a corner, Houston would also write quite the large check for Asomugha's services.
The San Francisco 49ers make sense for a number of reasons. They just lured Jim Harbaugh because he would not have to move, and Oakland and San Francisco are separated by a bridge.
