Nnamdi Asomugha Is a Free Agent: Situation Critical for Oakland Raiders

Nnamdi Asomugha is a free agent. At least according to reports all over the Internet which claim that Asomugha's contract became void as the result of him not reaching certain goals this past season. In order for the Raiders to have an option for the 2011 season, Asomugha would have had to have played in more defensive plays than in 2009, or improve on his interception, sack or fumble recovery numbers from 2009. After Johnson are the two rookies Jeremy Ware and Walter McFadden. The two late round draft picks were big pick ups for the Raiders. Both players show the potential to be starters in the NFL, but both players are also a couple of years away from being at that point.

This offseason was already primed to be stressful for the Raider Nation. With the firing of Tom Cable, we all know that there is going to be a good amount of waiting despite the fact that all signs point...
