NFL Playoff Picture: Oakland Raiders and Playoff Hopefuls Who Have No Shot

While not all teams have been mathematically eliminated from playoff contention, there are a few playoff hopefuls who don't stand a chance at cracking the postseason.

Some teams control their own destiny, but being in must-win games hasn't equated to victories thus far and won't do so in Week 17.

Here are three playoff hopefuls who'll be watching the postseason from the comfort of their homes.

Oakland Raiders vs. San Diego Chargers

The Raiders have lost three of their last four, taking them from an inevitable playoff team to being on the brink of elimination.

The Raiders would not only need to knock off Philip Rivers and a dangerous Chargers squad, Tim Tebow's Broncos would also have to lose at home against the same Chiefs squad who just ate it against the Raiders at home for them to win the division.

The fierce competition for one of the wild card spots in the AFC makes their playoff dreams a huge stretch.

Dallas Cowboys vs. New York Giants

Tony Romo is about to show the world that he deserves every bit of criticism that is flung his way. The Cowboys have dropped three of their last four games and despite having numerous opportunities to grab hold of a wide open division, the Cowboys have fallen short.

The Giants went into Dallas and fed the Cowboys a loss in Week 14. Now that it's on their home turf with a quarterback who has proven he can come up big for his team in the clutch, the Giants are going to slam the door shut on the Cowboys.



Tennessee Titans vs. Houston Texans

Though the Tennessee Titans are still technically alive, it's going to take a complex string of events to punch their ticket to the playoffs.



While the Titans certainly have a shot at ousting the skidding Texans, they also need the Bengals to drop the ball against the Ravens at home. Then they need the Jets to win and either the Raiders or B...
