Game #1: Rams at Raiders (-3.5)
St. Louis Rams rookie quarterback, Sam Bradford, makes his first trip away from home to face the Oakland Raiders in the Black Hole. The Raiders are coming off a huge beating from the Titans 38-13 and the Rams were just edged out by the Cardinals, 17-13.
The "Black Hole" is one of the most intimidating places I have ever been to. Yes, I did have the balls to go in my Bills jersey but I still have nightmares. While I lived to tell about it Sam Bradford may not. The Raiders might be 51-70 when favorite at home since 1992, but the Rams are also 27-43 when an underdog by 3.5.
Pick: Raiders -3.5
Game #2: Cardinals at Falcons (-6.5)
It's time for the Falcons to stand up, simply put. If they are going to be one of the dominant teams this year they need to move that offense and Matt Ryan needs to come back to life after getting hammered in Pittsburgh and losing in overtime, 15-9. Ryan is 13-1 at home throughout his career and the Falcons will need to get the running game started. I see a tough day ahead Derek Anderson and the Cardinals as the Falcons will fly by.
Pick: Falcons -6.5
Game #3: Steelers at Titans (-5)
Make no doubt about it the Titans will not score 38 points on this Pittsburgh Steelers defense. This will be a smash mouth football game and most likely will end with a FG. This is the first time Vince Young has ever played the Steelers and the defense should be ready to send a message.
In 2009 these two opened the season in one of the most physical games in recent memory. During that game Troy Polamalu was injured and is just now finally 100% healthy. The Titans have won thre...
