NFL: Oakland Raiders Running Back Michael Bush Arrested for Drinking and Driving

Early Saturday morning, Oakland Raiders running back Michael Bush was arrested for operating while intoxicated (OWI), which is essentially a DUI.

As an unrestricted free agent, he couldn't have picked a worse time to get arrested.  Bush is expected to seek out a starting job somewhere, and this incident only diminishes his value.

Throughout his career, Bush has capitalized on every opportunity to carry the load for his team.

At the time of the draft, Bush was behind fan favorite Justin Fargas on the depth chart. When the Raiders drafted Darren McFadden, Bush slid down another notch, but every time he filled in for Fargas or McFadden, put up big numbers.

It remains to be seen whether or not he can carry the load for a team for the duration of a season though.

Despite this incident, I'd love for him to come back to Oakland.  I think he'll learn from this experience and become a better person.  Hopefully he scales back the drinking, and next time he's too sloshed to drive, I hope he calls a taxi.

Bush and McFadden can become the most feared 1-2 punch in the National Football League next season, if Hue Jackson uses them correctly. Bush brings the thunder and McFadden brings the lightning.  Well, actually McFadden brings both the thunder and lightning, but we still need Bush.

I hope this incident doesn't change Al Davis' mind about keeping Michael Bush.  At the press conference announcing Jackson as the new head coach, Davis had some nice things to say about Bush, and it seemed like he looked at him as a big part of the Raiders' future.

What the future holds for Bush as a Raider remains to be seen.  Hopefully he learns from this and the Raiders bring him back to Oakland.

What do you guys think about this?  Is it a big deal or not?
