Michigan fans will remember a California football star in 1998 that came to Michigan with high expectations named Justin Fargas. Justin was the son of TV Star "Huggy Bear" from Starsky and Hutch. Justin showed flashes of greatness in his freshman year when he ran for 277 yards and one TD, but similar to Sam McGuffie, he had trouble breaking tackles and making big runs in the Big Ten.
In the 2000 season, Justin decided to try the safety position before transferring to Southern Cal. Michigan fans knew Justin was talented but many of us expected him to have the same issues at USC. He didn't, and Justin went for 715 yards during his senior year and got drafted by the Raiders.
Justin has had a pretty consistent NFL career gaining over 1,000 yards in 2007, 853 yards in 2008, and 491 yards in 2009, splitting time with Bush and McFadden.
Justin was due a $1.7 million payout today and promptly got cut by the Raiders yesterday. Let's hope he gets picked up by a team that needs a running back.
