John Henderson Signs with Raiders as Oakland Finally Creates a Legit Defense

For years the Raiders' interior D-line has been the biggest weakness of the Raiders defense, and because of that the Raiders have been in the bottom of the league in run defense.

Most recently they have plugged in players like Terdell Sands and Gerard Warren next to Tommy Kelly to no avail.

But now with the recent addition of John Henderson, things may finally be different. The Raiders may actually have a decent run defense now.

With other offseason additions like Kamerion Wimbley, Quentin Groves, Rolando McClain, and Lamarr Houston, the Raiders' front seven is finally looking fierce.

Also with the emergence of Desmond Bryant and signing undrafted rookie Kellen Heard, the Raiders actually have decent depth as well.

Heard will likely be demoted to the practice squad and given more time to develop.

As it stands right now, the starting D-line appears to be Richard Seymour, Tommy Kelly, John Henderson, and Lamarr Houston, with Desmond Bryant likely rotating in at DT.

The starting front four alone weighs in at about 1,250 pounds and should have no trouble stopping the run.

What do you think, Raider Nation—is John Henderson the answer to the Raiders' run-stopping woes?

Now all the Raiders need to assure a playoff run is a true number one receiver. Whether they find a gem among the twelve plus receivers attending Raiders practices or go the free-agency route and grab a name like Terrell Owens.
