John Henderson, Free-Agent DT, Signed by Oakland Raiders

Are we dreaming in Raider Nation?

Someone must be listening.

The Raiders have reportedly signed free-agent defensive tackle, and former Jacksonville Jaguar, John Henderson.

Henderson had fallen out of favor with Jacksonville head coach Jack Del Rio, while the Jaguars appear to have revamped their defensive line with rookies from the 2010 NFL draft.

ESPN's Adam Schefter and Sportsline.com have both reported this transaction. (Gee, I sure do like when ESPN gets a story right about the Raiders.)

Henderson's presence could potentially spell the end for current tackle Tommy Kelly's time in Oakland. Kelly signed one of the most lucrative contracts for a defensive tackle in 2007, a move that many have criticized.

Henderson, 31, should upgrade what has been a porous run-defense since the end of the 2002-2003 NFL season, when the Raiders featured Sam Adams and John Parella in the middle of the defensive line.

The Jaguars have been noted for their smash-mouth toughness, with little flashiness, in recent years.

But they got the job done.
