Jason Campbell, If You’re Not Twice As Good, Sit Down!

A 66.3 passer rating, 5:7 touchdown to interception ratio, a 52.9 completion rate with a 6.7 yards average per pass are Bruce Gradkowski’s stats this year, comparable only to starters Jake Delhomme and Rusty Smith, the rookie QB for the Tennessee Titans. In the aforementioned stats, Jason Campbell ranks higher, has won 4 of his last 6 games, and continues to throw more touchdowns than picks unlike “Bruce Almighty”.

Yet, the bumbling oaf of a coach for the Oakland Raiders, Tom Cable, anointed Gradkowski the chosen horse to gallop the Oakland Raiders into the den of football dynasty after Campbell had led the Raiders out of their losing ways.

In return, Cable pulled a “Shanny” and benched Campbell for a quarterback that has proven to turn the ball over more than he scores. And the result was an embarrassing loss at home to a team, the Miami Dolphins, that the Raiders should have beaten.

Shaun King, former Quarterback for the Tampa Bay Bucs said, "Any franchise Caucasian quarterback will get unlimited opportunities to realize their potential." Bruce Almighty is benefiting from that fact, but as Campbell and McNabb have realized it’s not the case for everyone.

McNabb added when asked about non-black quarterbacks, "Let me start by saying I love those guys. But they don't get criticized as much as we do. They don't." Nor has Bruce been booed, or taken the criticism that Campbell has taken this season despite putting up gaudier stats than Campbell and engineering one win over the St. Louis Rams.

Last season, Jay Cutler threw over 25 interceptions and his job was never in jeopardy. In addition, Matt Cassell threw just as many interceptions as touchdowns. Yet both of them had lower pass ratings than Campbell or McNabb, but Campbell and McNabb were sent packing from their respective teams.
