Jason Campbell and Bruce Gradkowski: Are They in Good Hands?

Last year, the Oakland Raiders had four different quarterbacks take a snap in a regular season game.  One reason was poor play, the other three were from injuries.  Our quarterbacks were called "injury-prone" by critics, but maybe something else was at fault here.

A new quarterback is in Oakland, Jason Campbell.  When the Raiders hosted the 49ers in Week 3 of the preseason, Campbell was knocked out of the game after being hit and laying motionless on the ground for five minutes.

The real reason Oakland has a revolving door at quarterback is the offensive line.  Anybody can tell you that the offensive line is too inconsistent for the Raiders to make a splash in the playoffs without luck.

Campbell was on the sidelines after being carted off the field, but the sight of him down on the ground could be a sign of things to come.  This offensive line let two quarterbacks get hurt in a three-week span late last year, and it looks like they picked up where they left off.

Fortunately, Bruce Gradkowski reminded the doubters that he has the potential to lead the team when he came in and threw for 202 yards and two touchdowns.  If the line is still a wreck, Gradkowski will have to keep it up.
