Reports are that Russell was picked up from his house in Mobile, Alabama following an undercover investigation.
The fact that there was an undercover investigation going on leads me to believe that this may not end up being a simple possession charge. What if he ends up getting charged with possession for sales? He just might end up doing some time depending on what comes out of this whole situation.
The drug in question is believed to be codeine cough syrup. Its the popular drug of choice among dope heads in the South.
In a way I feel bad for Jamarcus Russell but most of me says he gets what he deserves. Hopefully this is what finally "opens his eyes." He needs to do some serious soul searching and figure out how to get his life back on track.
If he doesn't straighten his act up he'll most likely be broke in the near future and end up playing for some 2nd rate football organization. Either that or he'll have to start a reality show to make a little change.
I always wanted Russell to succeed as a Raider and I even hoped he would resurface in the NFL this year but if he doesn't care then why should I?
If he has to serve a suspension over this, he may have already played his last down in the NFL.
Well that is it for now. Just thought I'd share the breaking news with you all. Any suggestions for the title of what Russell's reality show would be?
