Since then its just been getting better each week.
Ford's first real big impact came in the game against Kansas City. He came up big starting with the opening kickoff of the second half. He took the kick and returned it 94-yards for a touchdown. That was the spark the Raiders needed to get back in the game. Also, Ford was making every play he possibly could, he racked up 148 yards on six catches.
Seeing Ford do that, and following it up with another huge day with 108 yards and a TD on four catches against Miami made me wonder, have the Raiders found their newest late round gem?
People can say what they want about the Raiders draft strategy in past years, but they always seem to find somebody in later rounds who makes a huge impact. There was Zach Miller, Louis Murphy, Michael Bush and now Ford.
Not only has Ford helped out the Raiders, he has been very clutch for them too.
Whenever the Raiders needed a big play, Ford was there making something out of nothing.
Two big plays were in the Kansas City game. First, he rips the ball out of a Chief defender's hands, and then he followed that up with another huge catch in overtime that set up the game winning drive. Right now Ford is putting up better numbers than last year's first-round pick, Darrius Heyward-Bey.
Jacoby Ford seems to be one of the Raiders new up and coming stars, and Raider Nation is very excited about this explosive rookie and we can't wait to see what he comes up with in the future.
