Hue Jackson’s Sound of Victory Must Spell Victory for the Oakland Raiders

In less than 24 hours a couple of unusual events happened to me. I made the connection to the coaching situation of the Oakland Raiders.

First, a younger sister called in distress believing that she might get laid off since her company is losing money in this crazy economy. She asked that I pull for her, and I said that I would. Fifteen minutes after she called, another call came through and the secretary asked if my sister was trying to contact the pastor. I said, "No, but the name was so similar to her name." In fact, the two names had the same sound.

Next at 2:30 pm, on the next day, a call came from a Western Union worker and asked that I verify that a check was good. When I asked the name of the worker, it was a name that sounded like the name of a caretaker for a senior Oakland Raider that I sometimes write about.

It came to me, as clear as day: Sometimes there is a sound of victory, but is there a correct spelling of victory?

Hue Jackson has the sound of victory in his media sessions. Now, he must formulate the strategy that "spells" victory for the Oakland Raiders. What do I mean? Let me explain.

Here is a definition of "spell" from dictionary.com:

1. to name, write, or otherwise give the letters, in order, of (a word, syllable, etc.):  2. Jackson has gotten some of the letters in the concept of victory in the right place. The Oakland Raiders added Carson Palmer to the team, immediately when they saw he was available. This decision helps to "spell" victory for the Oakland Raiders. It spelled victory in the game on Nov. 10.
