Do the Oakland Raiders Deserve More Respect?

The Oakland Raiders are coming off a 59-14 dismantling of their division rival Denver Broncos.

Easily one of the most lopsided contests in either team's history.

But after total domination of the Donkeys, though Raider fans are pleased about the win, many are disappointed about the lack of credit, coverage and a total lack of respect this team is still facing.

Hell even one of the game commentators went as far as to point out that the Denver defense had "successfully" shut out DHB, while the Raiders were up five scores.

Do the Raiders deserve any respect?

The answers are simple. If the Raiders want respect they have to earn it, and they have not earned it yet.

The Raiders have earned nothing and proven nothing, except that they can be inconsistent. One week the Raiders are 1-6 in the red zone, the next week they're routing the overrated Chargers 27-35.

One week the Raiders are handing the 49ers their only win of the season and unable to find the end zone, the next week they're setting franchise records for most points in a game.

Some may think that hammering a team 59-14 is enough to earn some respect, but I disagree. Last year, the Patriots won in a similar manner and they were bad-mouthed for running up the score. There is nothing admirable about beating the crap out of a crappy team.

If the Raiders want some respect, try doing that two weeks in a row. Or how about against a team with a winning record? Or how about having a winning record yourself?

The Raiders have played two teams this year with winning records, and los...
