As for me and my gang, we are going to try to trust the recent move of dismissing Tom Cable and hope that it strengthens rather than destabilizes a growing team with an 8-8 in 2010.
I sort of enjoyed Tom Cable and the fact that he fights back and demands respect.
Let's look at it like this:
I have heard that Al Davis hired Hue Jackson, and he picked Jason Campbell and others. It looks like Campbell was a good choice. The choice of Jackson seems good, too.
I am sure you (and I) have learned that the Oakland Raiders belong to Al Davis. He may be old and he may have made some unusual decisions, but he still can brag that his team's record since the history of his involvement has made a great impact on the NFL.
Some folks say that Davis's ego is so big, that he has to structure things so that it is obvious that he is the real reason the Oakland Raiders have the persona that they have. So he must take credit for the good and the bad persona. Right?
I can see Al Davis in my mind with silver and black, studded with diamonds, dancing across a stage, singing like a Michael Jackson, saying, "It's my thing, and I'll do what I want to do... like I have always done."
In this satire, the ending is yet to be seen. Will the owner and the franchise self-destruct, or will he rise up and flourish, again?
Then Davis does a "spin" and jerks his head and says, "Just win."
In the meantime, the fans say, "Let the games begin while they are in a tailspin."
The scene ends with the music in the background, "It's your thing, do what you want to do... I can't tell you, who to sock it to!"
