A very intriguing move for both sides.
The Seahawks were very disappointed in Curry's play this season and what he's brought to the field since he was the No. 4 overall selection in the 2009 draft.
His best year came in 2010 when he finished the year with 73 total tackles and 3.5 sacks.
Still, he never was the true impact player the Seahawks thought they were getting when they took him so high three drafts ago.
The Seahawks, a team that will play hard and will be competitive, is realistically in rebuilding mode and can use the draft picks in the future, there's no questioning that.
If they didn't like how Curry was playing (only 22 tackles through five games) then why not get some compensation for the guy?
As for the Raiders, I like the move a lot.
Al Davis' legacy will remain in Oakland for a while as he's constructed a team on speed and athleticism.
Those are two things in which Curry does not lack.
In Seattle, Curry played alongside Lofa Tatupu, but he has a chance to become a solid contributor with Rolando McClain as a fellow linebacker, despite playing the same positions.
Although he's older, I think Curry can learn a lot from the Raiders' current starting middle linebacker.
If there's one knock on McClain, it's that he isn't fast enough sideline-to-sideline.
Curry certainly brings more speed to the defense.
McClain injured his ankle against the Texans last week, so Curry is, if nothing else, is fine depth at this point.
