2010 NFL Mock Draft: Jimmy Clausen to Oakland; CJ Spiller to Seattle

This here is my final mock for you mock draft junkies. 

Don't worry, I'm one too.  I know how it is only a few days before the draft...hands start sweating, can't sleep, tortured by dreams that Al Davis will mistakenly select a lacrosse player.

Well, maybe that's just life as a Raider fan.

Anyhow, my surprise prediction here is that the Raiders will take quarterback Jimmy Clausen of Notre Dame.  I've defended JaMarcus Russell, but I'm starting to wonder how much Al Davis is still enamored by him.

I also have Seattle taking CJ Spiller to uprade the running game.

I won't be surprised if Minnesota adds Colt McCoy (or Tim Tebow) near the end of the first round.  McCoy would be a good fit in Minnesota but it depends on how much coach Childress thinks of Tarvaris Jackson.

 

1. St. Louis Rams: Sam Bradford, QB, Oklahoma

The Rams are rebuilding and thus start the process with Sam Bradford.

 

2. Detroit Lions:  Ndamukong Suh, DT, Nebraska

Detroit coach Jim Schwartz gets an anchor for the defensive line.

 

3. Tampa Bay Buccaneers:  Gerald McCoy, DT, Oklahoma

The Bucs get a future Warren Sapp.

 

4. Washington Redskins:  Russell Okung, OT, Oklahoma State

Mike Shanahan's new regime now has Donovan McNabb, Larry Johnson, and Willie Parker.  The missing piece is a left tackle.

 

5. Kansas City Chiefs: Trent Williams, OT, Oklahoma

The Chiefs get the left tackle that they covet.  I should add that Washington has shown some interest in Trent Williams. 

Nevertheless, I think that interest is only as insurance, in the event that Detroit defies expectations and takes Russell Okung. 

Yet, Washington's interest in Williams could mean that the Chiefs ...
