Twitter Responds to Hottest NBA Free Agency Rumors Surrounding Dwight Howard

As if anyone is surprised by this breaking news, NBA superstar Dwight Howard hasn’t made a decision about where he wants to go in free agency. I know, I know. Who could have predicted that one?

Howard has plenty of suitors, which is probably part of the problem. The Lakers, Rockets, Mavericks and even the Warriors are in play. They’re all going to make their pitches, then Dwight will pick one. At least that’s how he says it will go, and we know his word is ironclad.

With all this uncertainty about Howard’s free agency courtship, there are quite a few rumors buzzing around. Let’s take a moment to examine some of these.

According to Marcus Thompson II of the Bay Area News Group, the Warriors are looking into a sign and trade with the Lakers. This is the only way the Warriors can acquire Howard, and in this rumored trade they would package Andrew Bogut and either Harrison Barnes or Klay Thompson for Howard.

But just because he reported the rumor doesn't mean Thompson has to agree with it. Check out his tweet below.



If you look at that stance, in light of Golden State's playoff success in 2013 and Dwight Howard's, shall we say complicated, season in Los Angeles, Thompson doesn't sound crazy. Just bold. Really bold.

Meanwhile, Houston has become the tentative front-runner in the Dwight Howard sweepstakes. They have the budding star in James Harden, uptempo style, shooters galore, cap room, and no state income tax. What more could you want?!

Apparently Dwight does want something more, and that's another max contract player. Who might that be? That might just be Josh Smith, although the Rockets won't admit it.



If they add Smith, Houston would have to be the top choice basketball wise in Howard's eyes. As if that's not enough, Slim Thug is doing his best to woo Howard to the rapper's home town.
