Lakers Rumors: Latest Buzz Surrounding the Lake Show

The Los Angeles Lakers might not have Dwight Howard, but they're still working towards putting together a playoff-bound roster.

Team general manager Mitch Kupchak and company are already looking forward past the Howard fiasco. Here are the latest rumors buzzing around the Lakers.

Lakers Will Reportedly Keep Pau Gasol

Pau Gasol is no stranger to having his roster spot in Los Angeles debated, but he doesn't have to worry about that going into next year. According to ESPN Los Angeles' Ramona Shelburne, the Lakers will no longer discuss the idea of using the amnesty provision on Gasol.

If the Lakers do choose to keep Gasol, the team will hope for a bounce-back year from the power forward. In 2012, he posted career lows in points per game with 13.7. It will be interesting to see if those numbers change considering Shelburne says it's likely Gasol will move to center.

Gasol played in just 49 games last season due to injury, his lowest amount in a single season as a Laker. The Lake Show might be going through some changes, but Gasol will still be a staple in the lineup next season.

Metta World Peace Could be Amnestied

Metta World Peace will exercise his option to stay with the Lakers next season. He doesn't have the final say in that matter, however, and his fate will be determined early in July.

Los Angeles could use the one-time amnesty provision sometime between July 10-16, according to Mark Medina of the Los Angeles Daily News.

World Peace would like to come back to the Lakers but isn't worried about the looming decision by the team.

"I want to go out there, play one more season and then I can be a free agent next season," World Peace told Medina.

The veteran small forward also told Medina that he's not thinking about being amnestied, saying, "I'm just worried about working out."
