Lakers Rumors: L.A Tells Player He May Be Dealt in Dwight Howard Deal Any Moment

Keep your fingers crossed, Lakers fans, the moment may be arriving any minute now. According to Jackie Pepper of PepperOnSports, the Lakers are considering an offer from the Orlando Magic for Dwight Howard, and they are very interested.

The source says the Lakers have informed one player that he might be part of the package deal and that he could be traded at any moment.

The Lakers are “very interested” in acquiring Howard, according to the source.

While it seems the Howard talks are never-ending, it has become clear that the Lakers are the favorites to land the Orlando star, and the negotiations are getting more serious by the hour, Pepper reports:

But as of Thursday afternoon pacific time, the Lakers front office phones were blazing hot with Howard chatter.

One thing is for sure: If Howard lands in Los Angeles, Andrew Bynum is on his way out. But who is the other player who was warned? Pau Gasol? Metta World Peace?

The different scenarios are intriguing to think about, but it has been widely reported that the Magic expect whoever lands Howard to take back at least one of their bad contracts in Hedo Turkoglu or Jason Richardson, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo!.

We won't know for certain unless the deal happens, but Gasol does not seem to fit into the Magic's rebuilding plans.

Not only would Dwight Howard propel the Lakers to elite status, he would also attract even more free agents who are currently considering the Lakers.

Howard would run the pick-and-roll to perfection with Steve Nash, and his defense would lock down the paint.

It's quite exciting to be a Lakers fan again. Steve Nash was improbable, but this is more likely to happen. Stay tuned!
