Steve Kyler of Hoopsworld reported that LA has roster move options which don’t include Pau Gasol. He wrote:
Sources near the situation say the Lakers would like to open up a roster spot to add a new player or two so don’t be surprised if guys like Jordan Hill, Devin Ebanks, Darius Morris or Darius Johnson-Odom are moved in exchange for a backup point guard or a second round draft pick in order to open a spot for the Lakers to sign one.
Ladies and gentlemen, what if I told you there’s a player who’s somehow, someway still unsigned and he was once known as one of, if not the best, pure shooters in the entire NBA?
That player is Michael Redd and if Mitch Kupchak clears a roster spot, he’s who the Lakers should sign. One more three-point ace and Mike D’Antoni’s offensive machine will be running like it was with the Phoenix Suns.
And on that note, Steve Nash finally returned to the starting lineup on Saturday night against the Golden State Warriors and if it weren’t for Kobe Bryant’s 41 field-goal attempts, Los Angeles’ offense would’ve been on juggernaut status. Well, almost on juggernaut status.
Outside of Jodie Meeks, LA lacks another three-point specialist.
Morris and Chris Duhon are actually shooting over 40 percent from beyond the arc this season. But they aren’t shooting in volume. The two guards average 42.9 minutes per game, but they only score a combined 9.7 points a contest.
They simply aren’t lights out, knockdown shooters.
