Adding restricted free agent Brandon Rush would help them greatly in this area.

Ken Berger of CBSSports.com reported on Sunday that either the Portland Trail Blazers or Minnesota Timberwolves could go after Rush, depending on who loses out on the Nicolas Batum Sweepstakes.
It's no wonder why Rush is garnering interest around the league. He shot 50 percent from the floor and 45 percent from downtown for the Golden State Warriors last season. The 2008 first-round pick has always been a good three-point shooter, but he blossomed in 2011-2012.
The Lakers would love to have Rush. They shot 32.6 percent from beyond the arc last season, and 30.4 percent from three-point land in the playoffs. Four Lakers players averaged more than two three-point attempts in the regular season—the leader of the group was Steve Blake, who shot 33.5 percent from downtown.
There are obstacles in the way, however. The Warriors extended a $4 million qualifying offer to Rush, which means they can match any offer that comes his way.
The Lakers getting a deal done with Rush would ultimately come down to the Warriors' interest in the 6'6", 225-pound guard/forward. Golden State apparently appears determined in keeping him on board, but a higher offer than expected could sway the Warriors' brass.
The Lakers need a player like Rush. They would be foolish not to at least try for him. With Steve Nash now set to lead the way, he needs dependable guys he can swing the ball...
