Kobe Bryant’s Injured Knee More Serious than First Thought

Kobe Bryant’s surgically repaired right knee is only 60 percent healed, the Lakers guard says, and that the injury severely hampered his play during the playoffs last season.

“During the NBA Finals, it was extremely, extremely, extremely painful,” Bryant said after today’s 111-92 loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves in London. “Now, not so much.”

Kobe had off-season surgery on the knee this summer, the third time such an operation had been done on Kobe’s knee. Complete recovery from the injury is expected to take an additional five or six weeks.
