Kobe Bryant Video: Watch Kobe Score Own Goal in Mia Hamm’s Celebrity Match

The LA Lakers are lucky Kobe Bryant never uses his feet to kick a basketball.

Judging by his skills put on display at Mia Hamm and Nomar Garciaparra's charity soccer event in Washington DC, Bryant should stick to basketball.

After his team had turned the ball over, Kobe looked like a basketball player as he jogged down the field with an eye on who had the ball—even if he wasn't defending anybody in particular.

As the ball unexpectedly bounces in his direction, Kobe gets excited and accidentally deflects the ball past his teammate in goal and into the net for the own goal.

D'Oh!

Kobe immediately puts his hands on his head in embarrassment and the other team rejoices despite not doing anything.

Kobe has always flirted with the idea of trying soccer out in some sort of professional capacity, but this whole NBA gig kind of gets in the way. When you are used to playing deep into the month of June, the soccer season is already underway and the opportunity is lost.

Now that the NBA lockout is in full swing and Kobe is floating the idea that he may play for a team in either Turkey or China—maybe soccer isn't out of the question?

Let's just hope the talent evaluators don't see this embarrassing moment on his highlight reel.
