It's the middle of summer and his league is currently mixed-up in what's shaping up to be one incredibly nasty lockout.
That gives the "Black Mamba" plenty of time to goof off and he did just as much this past weekend. He had been called out by Bow Wow, the rapper formerly known as "Lil Bow Wow," last Christmas after LeBron James and the Miami Heat smoked the Lakers in LA.
Here was the tweet Bow Wow sent in Kobe's direction:

Kobe got his chance to show Bow Wow what it's really like to play against him this weekend at the Kobe Bryant Basketball Academy.
After Kobe tore up the one-on-one competition without breaking a sweat, it was Bow Wow's turn. Skip to the end of the video to find a great example of how not to play defense. He attempts to hold Kobe down by his shirt and it doesn't even phase Bryant.
The best part is when Bow Wow gives him all the space in the world. Instead of settling for the three-pointer, he continued his dominance by taking the rock in to the post. After backing down the much smaller rapper with ease, Kobe tossed in the layup like nobody else was even there.
Kobe may be aging and may not hold the crown as best player in the NBA anymore—but he can still beat guys like Bow Wow with his eyes closed.
