In a message to his Facebook fans, Bryant simply stated, "Twitter up (@kobebryant)."
This is not Bryant's first appearance on Twitter. In 2011, Bryant created an account for a few hours, but shortly deactivated it. In just a few hours, he managed to attract 35,000 followers.
This time around, Bryant's new account garnered over 100,000 followers in just over an hour.
A week ago, Bryant took over Nike's Twitter account in what some felt was an attempt to promote his own account. Apparently, the promotion stunt worked.
The account's profile picture features a bird similar to the Twitter logo, with the noticeable difference being a snake-like forked tongue coming out of its beak. Bryant's first tweet: "The antisocial has become social #mambatweets."
