The 22-year-old North Carolina product has been thrown into the fire as the Los Angeles Lakers starting point man, and, all things considered, has fared decently. He's nearly logged a double-double on average, with 10.5 points and 9.3 assists per game, and has drilled 48 percent of his three-pointers.
Apparently, though, that just doesn't cut it for his virtual-baller Twitter followers, who can't seem to get the hang of his quirky shooting motion in NBA 2K14. They figured the man himself would be of some assistance.
Perhaps the video game's difficulty is judging by Marshall's miserable .371/.315/.571 shooting slash line from his 2012-13 rookie season with the Phoenix Suns.
After his subpar campaign, Marshall was dealt to the Washington Wizards in October and waived soon after. Before being scooped up by Los Angeles last month, Marshall was putting in work down in the D-League ranks with the Delaware 87ers.
It seems as though Marshall has put the time in to solve his real-life jumper woes. His 40 percent clip on Js is roughly eight percentage points better than the mark from his rookie season, according to NBA.com.
Just think twice before you ask him to crack the code to his 2K release point. Even though he's much improved in the purple and gold this season, that mystery remains unsolved.
Mike D'Antoni's offense may have resurrected a young NBA career, but it doesn't look like the same can be said for Marshall's modestly-ranked 2K replication.
