Kareem Abdul-Jabbar would finish his career with 38,387 points. The closest active player: fellow Los Angeles Lakers legend Kobe Bryant, who's currently sitting on 31,700.

Even if Bryant stays healthy and averages 20 points per game, it would still take him well into the 2018-19 season before he could reasonably be expected to break Abdul-Jabbar's mark.

The next best hope, then, would be LeBron James, currently at 23,003 and counting.
