Jordan Clarkson Injury: Updates on Lakers Guard’s Knee and Return

Los Angeles Lakers guard Jordan Clarkson had been out since he suffered a left knee strain against the Denver Nuggets on March 2, but he is ready to return to the lineup.

Continue for updates.

Clarkson Active vs. Warriors Sunday, March 6   Head coach Byron Scott told reporters Clarkson will play against Golden State on Sunday.

Clarkson's Return a Boost for Struggling Lakers Clarkson flashed potential in his first season on the way to a spot on the NBA All-Rookie First Team. He averaged 11.9 points and 3.5 assists per night in 2014-15 and is one reason for optimism in Los Angeles with so many young playmakers populating the roster.

In his second season in the league, Clarkson was second on the Lakers in scoring, averaging 15.6 points per game.

His versatility and ability to handle the ball at point guard or play the wing make him valuable in a crowded Lakers backcourt.

Kobe Bryant is the clear-cut alpha dog and one of the best players in recent NBA history. While his prime is firmly in the rearview mirror, Bryant can still be a dangerous scorer who is capable of putting up 20 points on any given night.

D’Angelo Russell was the No. 2 overall pick in the draft and boasts high upside and superstar potential. He can shoot the three, attack the basket off the dribble and create for his teammates with flashy passes and smooth ball-handling.

Despite some talent, Los Angeles is firmly in the basement of the Western Conference. Still, Clarkson’s development and comfort level alongside Russell is a major part of the team’s future, and the only way he will improve is through experience.
